What's interesting about introducing not only a new product but for most people, a new concept is that you end up getting two different sets of questions. The first set of questions usually pertain to the product itself. Customers usually ask simple things like " what's this?" or "is this some type of granola?" These are easy questions to answer because our product is simple, natural and straight forward.
The second set of questions always end up being something like, "why no grains," or I thought grains are great for you?" This always leads into challenge, try to explain living Paleo and what it is all about in less than three sentences. I say three sentences because it's very easy to lose people to boredom if you start getting too technical and begin to ramble on. Now what happens from here is one of two responses, either, "ok thanks," or "that sounds very interesting." Luckily for us, this explanation doesn't make or break selling the product. The point I'm trying to make is just because it's a Paleo type product doesn't mean it's only for Paleo eaters.
Market Recap
This week at the Market was average at best. Traffic was way down, both for vendors and patrons alike. Could be the great weather or vacations on the Cape but whatever it was this Saturday turned out to be one of the slowest of the summer. Hopefully we'll see a better outcome next week but I would anticipate that it may be slower for a few more weeks as kids and families are trying to enjoy some more fun times before school starts!
