Oh Lance

If anyone has been in a comma the last ten years and hasn't been aware of the fact that a lot of professional cyclists out there are using performance enhancing drugs such as EPO and testosterone check out the 60 minutes special from Sunday night to reintroduce yourself to world.

For as long as I can remember Lance Armstrong has been the face of cycling, and I don't even pay much attention to cycling at all, but finally it seems that some real truths will be exposed very soon.

On last nights edition of 60 minutes a friend of Lance's (well, former friend I'm guessing) went in front of the world to publicly admit that he and Lance both used performance enhancing drugs during their cycling careers.  Shocker?  No way.  The Tour de France race is one of the most grueling races any human being could ever compete in so it is by no means a surprise that Lance Armstrong and his teammates doped their way to victory numerous times over the last 10 years.

It's really about time someone exposed the whole cycling industry.  Let's be realistic, practically every  professional sport has athletes that are taking some type of performance enhancing drugs to get ahead.  (Although some might argue that Michael Phelps' bong experience wouldn't count as enhancing...but anyway) The story always seems to start out the same, "on a level playing field, i'd be killing this guy....he's taking it, so I have to take it to keep my job and get back to the same level."

At what point do we actually return to the real level ground?

I really commend those athletes who are truly clean and compete without ped's because they have to battle these other meat sticks on a day to day basis.  Coming from personal experience, it is definitely tough and those Athletes out there should be applauded for keeping some ethics in the world of sports.
