Often times people have trouble grasping the Paleo concept. What do you mean you don't eat pizza? No potato skins either? What do you eat? These are the questions that come up a lot with friends and family during a gathering or special holiday where home cooked food is in abundance and paleo friendly dishes are scarce. It's difficult to pitch someone on the idea when they don't have full grasp over the paleo picture.
The problem lies within the mindset. As humans anytime there is something taken away from us we automatically get defensive or protective because we feel it's our right to have it. Those who have grown up on italian food usually scratch their head when you tell them you don't eat pasta. It's this feeling of entitlement that keeps people eating the foods that are making this country fatter and sicker by the day.
One of the other biggest areas that is difficult to grasp is the "big picture." Just because you may feel young and indestructible after a night of hard core boozing and late night wings with the boys/girls doesn't mean that long term these nightly episodes will catch up with you. It's tough for people to understand that if they make better choices today, they can enjoy their days of tomorrow to the fullest.
